Thrifty Threads 365: Spring Trend to Thrift

Spring is officially here and if there's one trend that's haute, it would have to be pastels. From soft lilac to minty green to baby pink to powder blue, pastels are having a serious moment.Fashion is so cyclical, so what's hot now was hot years and decades ago. That cycle means your local thrift store can fulfill this trend. Sure you could splurge, but why would you? Here are tips to find pastels at your local thrift store.

Thrifty Threads 365: See how readers scored statement making piecesI seriously can't believe it's already March and I really can't believe Thrifty Threads 365 is heading into its third month. Though I love showing you guys my Thrifty Threads outfit posts, I really love seeing how you guys are surviving TT365. Because let's be honest, it's not easy giving up shopping for new clothes for a year. While some of you are doing the full year of thrifty threads, others are doing a few months.
And you've been great about tagging your photos with #ThriftyThreads365 and I love what I'm seeing. Last month I showed you how one reader transformed her thrifted palazzo pants in to three different dresses. And for this month, here are a few of my favorite photos from readers who are participating in Thrifty Threads 365.

P&G beauty, photo shoot essentials, looking fly on a dime style blogWell, the above is a bit deceiving. I'm not exactly gracing anyone's red carpet {just yet!}, but I do have to occasionally get glammed up for TV segments and photo shoots for my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge. Though paparazzi may not be snapping my pics or yours, it's important to have a killer beauty routine to go with any style.

And since everything I do is on a budget, that's where P&G Beauty products come in. You know their brands: Olay, Pantene, COVERGirl, Secret, etc. Instead of dropping major cash on department store beauty buys, P&G keeps me covered before, during and after I need to get glammed up or anytime I'm ready to have all eyes on me.

Thrifty Threads 365 is a fashion challenge where I will only thrift shop for an entire year. I’ll show you how it’s easy and wallet friendly to satisfy your style needs with secondhand finds. For full details {plus how you can get involved} check the original post here

Remember a few weeks ago when I asked you gals if I should continue my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge? Well, it was clear that it's time for me to resurrect the no-new-clothes-for-a-year challenge.
I did it back in 2010 and 2011 {check out the final results here},and this is the first time I'll do the challenge from January through December.
Just like the previous times, I can only purchase secondhand clothes for a year, but this time around, you can get involved.
