Hey fellow budget and thrift lovers, Some of you are regular readers and many of you just discovered me due to my Nate Berkus Show appearance yesterday. I'll be resuming regular posts on Monday, but I just wanted to give you an official introduction to the blog.I mostly post about thrift shopping and thrifting tips but I also cover other budget fashion news. Last year I started a Thrifty Threads 365 challenge {a full year where I didn't purchase any new clothing, I just thrifted} and I completed the...

Sigh, it's Fashion Week in NYC. Although I have a style blog and my background is in fashion, I kinda sorta hate Fashion Week. There, I finally admitted it. But, I still have to attend some shows and events so the inevitable question becomes what to wear. I love a girly dress, but I tend to go casual chic during Fashion Week, especially when Fall gives us chilly, rainy weather.Instead of an over the top outfit, I usually stick with one statement piece, typically a pair of heels.

A few weeks ago I let you guys in on my big news, I'll be appearing on The Nate Berkus Show. Well, now I have an air date for the show: Thursday, September 15. So of course I hope you'll tune in, tell a friend, tell your mama and set your DVR.

I can't tell you how exciting and humbling it was to be a part of the show. Nate was as sweet {and cute!} as he appears on television and the team of producers and assistants were absolutely amazing to work with. Like seriously, I  didn't encounter a single person who wasn't a pleasure. While you're waiting for the show to air, check out behind the scenes pics snapped by my homie Danielle {aka The Style & Beauty Doctor}. She was on hand as my moral support, photographer, lipstick applier and all around calming spirit who kept me from freaking out at my first television appearance.

Fridays are usually my Thrifty Threads posts where I show you guys how I put together outfits using my thrift store finds, but you'll notice there's no photo of my fly threads. That's because my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge {a year of only purchasing thrift store clothing} officially ended yesterday. Yes, I made it through an entire year of only relying on thrift stores for my "new" clothes. I can honestly say I've had a blast on this challenge that was anything but challenging. I hope I've showed you guys...

After last week's massive Housing Works haul where I snagged 29 pieces of clothing for $10, I was dying to wear one item in particular. My favorite piece had to be the polka dot halter dress my girl Danielle found for me. Though I'm not a fan of polka dots, the dress has such a vintage-y glam feel. And I decided to go all out with the glam factor and add the wide brim hat I also got from Housing Works.
