I've been a serious thrifter for years now and people tend to be amazed at the pieces I find {just check out some of my past Thrifty Threads posts} and I always offer to take them thrifting with me but occasionally I get a hesitant reaction. And then the person finally expresses their concern...

Last week before stopping by Not Just Vintage, I hit up Goodwill on Fulton Street in Brooklyn {1102 Fulton}. Though I'm an avid thrifter, I was ashamed to say I'd never been to Goodwill in BK, so I had to change that asap.I was amazed at how spacious the store was and I was even more amazed at how empty it was. And of course it was super organized.Though the prices were pretty comparable to other Goodwill's in New York {$8 for dresses, $5 for tops, etc}, I did notice a few pieces that were a bit high, close to $20 for some dresses and shoes.I normally shop and snap picks after I get my goods home but I loved so many pieces that I had to take some pics in the dressing room {and the lighting was fairly good}.

I fell head over heels for this dress. The ruched bodice, ruffles and one shoulder are to die for. Unfortunately...I couldn't zip it up in the back. Womp womp! Hopefully she finds a good home and at $13, I'm sure she will.

Earlier this week I gave you guys a quick recap of the first Adventures in Thrifting where I met up with a few readers to go thrift shopping. The theme was The Big Three and we went to Goodwill, Housing Works and Salvation Army on East 23rd Street in New York City. I already showed you what I found, so now it's time to see what my amazing readers scored.Peep the quick video below where the ladies show off their goods, including on trend pieces like a coral...

Last week I announced the debut of Adventures in Thrifting {monthly trips where we hit up different thrift stores in the city}and I've finally set a date. The first outing will be on Saturday, April 30 at 10:30 am. As I stated in an earlier post, each "Adventure" will have a theme and April's theme is "The Big Three." If you've been following my blog for a while, you know my favorite thrift stores in NYC are Goodwill, Salvation Army and Housing Works. And there's a street in NYC...

Though I love national thrift stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army, I also love finding little boutiques in the city. I find these are the best places to discover unique finds and the crowds aren't as insane. After my Salvation Army thrift haul, I headed uptown to Finderz Keeperz Vintage Boutique {121 West 116th St}. I was amazed at this place. The store's super small but packs a major vintage punch. They've been in Harlem for five years, I've been in Harlem for three years and we're just now discovering one another. Such a shame but better late than never.The owners were extremely helpful and super friendly. If you're looking for something in particular, they'll be glad to pull it off the racks or check the back {where they have even more vintage finds!}.If you're a lover of sequins, then this is the place for you. Entire racks were devoted to sequin dresses, tops and cardigans.

{the detailing on this shirt was impeccable. $35}
