The weather was absolutely amazing this weekend in NYC. 80 plus degrees made me take to the streets and hit the Brooklyn Flea Market. I didn't end up buying anything, but it was great walking around and seeing the tons of cool stuff. There were rows and rows of clothes, accessories, vintage electronics, food, furniture and more. Flea markets are great places to find unique pieces to add to your wardrobe or home decor.A few tips for flea market shopping:
  • Walk around: visit all of the booths before buying anything. Another vendor may have a similar item for a better price.
  • Bargain: you can almost always haggle with a seller. If you're buying a few pieces, he/she will most certainly give you a discount.
  • Cash rules: though a few of the Brooklyn Flea Market vendors accepted credit cards, always come with cold hard cash.

Last night I attended a preview of Zac Posen for Target. I rarely get excited for events, but this is Zac Posen and a precursor to the 24-hour shopping party. The night was full of glamour, fun and tons of fashion. The walls were  lined with racks of clothing and I felt like I was in a glamazons dressing room. And the festive atmosphere had an elegant, prom-like feel with chandeliers and pink balloons coating the ceiling. A cute added touch was the polaroids that were taken of the guests. The designer's line doesn't hit stores until the 25th, but party-goers had a chance to view and purchase the affordable frocks (prices range from $16.99 to $199.99).There was something for every occasion or style, including  flow-y tops, pleated skirts and bright prints.

My favorite piece had to be this brocade dress. At $74.99, it's perfect for a dressy evening.

I'm normally not a fan of one pieces, but the amazing structure of this red hot bathing suit is the epitome of glamour and it's only $34.99.

Last week I ventured to the tents of New York Fashion Week. I shopped my closet for a look that was cute (at least in my opinion) and functional. The NYC ground is still a bit slippery and slushy so knee high boots with a modest heel were necessary. I needed a sweater for warmth but I also tend to get a bit hot so I wanted a lightweight shirt or blazer for any after parties. Here's a breakdown of how I rocked NYFW in a look that...
