WE tv braxton family valuesIf you guys follow me on Instagram {user: LookingFlyonaDime} or like my Facebook fan page, then you may have seen some photos from earlier this month referencing my shoot with WE tv. Well, now I can give you the dish! I filmed two Cinematherapy segments for the network.

During the commercial breaks for Braxton Family Values, host Jackie Tranchida and I give you the dish on must have items for fall. The advertiser for this week's Cinematherapy is Burlington Coat Factory, so everything is super affordable. And like I mentioned, I didn't film just one segment, but two. During the 7pm show of the Braxtons, I'll show you a great piece from Burlington that can transition your wardrobe from summer to fall. And during the 8pm show's commercial break, you'll see another must have piece for the fall months.I know most people, self included, tune out or fast forward when commercials come on, but you'll want to stay tuned in between the Braxton episodes.I took a few picks during the shoot just to give you a peek at what you can see on Thursday's Cinematherapy episodes.

This past weekend I hosted a Sip & Swap with the ladies of O So Chic. If you were one of the ladies in attendance, then you know we had a great time and if you couldn't join us, check out the recap.

We sipped on cocktails provided by Ciroc and swapped our gently used {but fab} clothes and accessories. Besides Ciroc, our other sponsors included Golden Krust Bakery, Handbag Heaven, HavaianasHappy Scarf and Housing Works. After swapping clothes for two hours, we still had a ton of clothes left over, but they all found a good home, as they were donated to Housing Works, which isn't just a chain of thrift stores but an organization that supports those in NYC who are homeless and/or living with HIV/AIDS.

Whether the ladies were a size 2 or 12, they all walked out with at least one bag of clothes and accessories.

Looking Fly on a Dime, Black Blogger Month shoot

Last Friday, I had an amazing opportunity to participate in a video shoot for BlackEnterprise.com. This is the second year they've designated May as Black Blogger Month {check out last year's coverage} and I was honored they wanted me to be a part of it, as well as shoot some footage for the video series. Every weekday a new blogger will be highlighted and they'll share how they made it. I'm not sure what day I'll be live on the Black Enterprise site, but of course I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, check out what I wore. You already know I had to rock some thrifty, affordable threads. *Sorry for the crappy lighting, we filmed at the 40/40 club and they had the lights down when we weren't filming*

Looking Fly on a Dime, Black Enterprise shoot

Today I'm deviating from the normal budget fashion and thrift tips to tell you guys how I spent my weekend. My friends and I hosted a vision board party. I'm a serious believer in the power of words and positive thoughts so my girl Danielle, The Frugal Fatshionista, and I decided to get together with the girls for a night of sharing our future hopes and goals with one another. And of course we had a great time without spending much cash. We set the scene at Danielle's place. We had affordable eats {everyone brought something to snack on and some takeout from Domino's} and items like plates, forks and even plastic wine glasses were from the dollar store. Seriously, the dollar store is my go-to place for party decorations and settings.

Earlier this month I told you guys about my awesome new gig as the Savvy Shopper reporter for New York City's Pix 11 News. I give daily reports on budget fashion, beauty and lifestyle tips to keep people looking fly on a dime. If you're not in the NY-NJ-CT area and can't catch me on your screen every weekday, I've included some links to my recent Savvy Shopper segments.Savvy Shopper tours the remodeled H&MSavvy Shopper talks sample salesSavvy Shopper gives the dish on Uniqlo's flagship storeAnd for my...
