Decorating on a Dime: Affordable Table Settings

Tablescapes are more than a simple dinner setting, they are a work of art. Not only are they the focal point of a room, but they also give the hostess an opportunity to display her personality and sense of style. And I'm sure you know designing a beautiful table setting can be costly.Here are a few tips that will allow you to create a successful design for your next party without breaking the bank!

Affordable healthy food, Target cheap eats
I love Target. That's not a surprise. From their clothes to being obsessed with their infamous dollar bins, I always walk out of the store with something amazing. And I'm really fortunate that my local Target has a grocery section. This has become my go-to spot when I need some last minute items for dinner or a light bite.
And though I tend to find myself in the ice cream aisle {I'm obsessed with Talenti's sea salt caramel gelato!}, the store is stocked full of fresh, healthy eats.
People often say eating healthy strains the purse straps and it can depending on where you shop, but during a recent Target visit, I racked up on four bags worth of healthy and wallet friendly food.

Today I'm deviating from the normal budget fashion and thrift tips to tell you guys how I spent my weekend. My friends and I hosted a vision board party. I'm a serious believer in the power of words and positive thoughts so my girl Danielle, The Frugal Fatshionista, and I decided to get together with the girls for a night of sharing our future hopes and goals with one another.And of course we had a great time without spending much cash. We set the scene at Danielle's place. We had affordable eats {everyone brought something to snack on and some takeout from Domino's} and items like plates, forks and even plastic wine glasses were from the dollar store. Seriously, the dollar store is my go-to place for party decorations and settings.

I'm a sucker for anything that's fried and/or sprinkled with powdered sugar. Seriously, eating funnel cake is my favorite part of attending amusement parks or carnivals. So when I came across a recipe for sweet potato beignets, I was intrigued. Beignets are a New Orleans staple and the sweet potato twist seemed fun. I deviated from the original recipe by omitting the ricotta cheese and using milk. You may need to add more flour to give the mixture a doughier consistency so they can be formed in to balls.

{the ingredients were simple {you most likely have them in your pantry} and affordable}
