I'm sure you guys have heard of OPI's Black Shatter polish. It's the awesome new lacquer that gives nails a cracked or shatter effect. You just paint your nails as usual, layer the Black Shatter over them and before you know it, you have a fun, funky look.Since the polish is so popular, it's been crazy trying to find a bottle anywhere. However, I came across an entire rack of OPI Black Shatter while at Duane Reade {i went there for toilet paper and let with beauty products}. At $8.50, it's more than your typical drugstore polishes, but I had to try it and I'm glad I did. What's great is you can use any color you want underneath it. I opted for Sinful Colors' 24/7.

{step 1: apply polish as usual and let dry}

I've been seeing commercials for L'Oreal's Double Extend Eye Illuminator and I finally tested it out. The mascara is intended to brighten your eye color with its 2-step process.The first side of the wand lengthens while the second side is infused with "light-reflecting pearls" to highlight your eyes. The mascara comes in four different shades depending on eye color {black copper for blue eyes, black bronze for green eyes, black quartz for brown eyes and black crystal for all eyes}. I had a hard time finding the black quartz, but after a visit to Ulta, I finally lucked out!At just $9.99, I was looking forward to testing it out. I'm not a huge fan of makeup but my wispy lashes need some serious help.

I can't say that I'm really loving it. Though it was clump free and smudge free, that's where the KTTKT stops. I guess I was expecting something different {what, I don't really know} but I just felt like my $10 was wasted.

Blah, not impressed! The volume was non-existent.

I'm clueless when it comes to layering eyeshadows or how to create a smokey eye so I figured a compact that spells it out for you would be perfect. I purchased the NYC IndividualEyes Custom Compact a few weeks ago from my local drugstore for $4. The three different shades are meant to enhance your eye color: Union Square for brown eyes, Bryant Park for blue eyes and Central Park for green eyes. Since I'm a brown eyed girl, I went with Union Square.

The kits includes everything from primer, all over lid shadow, crease shadow, illuminator and a highlighter. The back of the package shows you which shadows to apply where. I was really impressed the compact came with a primer to keep shadow in place and from creasing.

I tried the NYC IndividualEyes Custom Compact out and...

I've seen the half moon manicure for a while now and I finally decided to give it a try. And I have to tell you, it was super easy, even for a clutz like myself. The only item I had to go out and purchase was the page reinforcers {$2} to create the half moon shape. You remember page reinforcers from your elementary school days, right? They kept your torn pages from falling out of your Trapper Keeper.What you'll need: base and top coat, page reinforcers, two shades of polish {I used Wet n Wild's Sparked and Sally Hansen's Racey Rouge}.
