Thrifty Threads 365: why you need a thrift wish list
We're one month in to Thrifty Threads 365 and if you're joining the challenge, you may be experiencing some withdrawal symptoms. I mean, seriously, it can be a bit tough giving up shopping for new clothes for a year! But like I mentioned in my previous 3 Tips to Survive Thrifty Threads 365, it's so important to create a thrift wish list.
When you walk in to a thrift store with absolutely no idea what you're shopping for, it can lead to buyer's remorse, which is something you really don't want when you're budget and options are restricted with Thrifty Threads 365.
Here's why you need a thrift shopping wish list.

No new clothes challenge--Thrifty Threads 365
Thrifty Threads 365 {a full year of no new clothes, only thrift shopping!} is almost a month in and so far, so great! I haven't had the urge to hit up any department stores. Though I'm shopping secondhand, I view the clothes as being "new" to me, so I don't feel like I'm missing out.
However, I did get a slight itch when I visited Loehmann's on Monday. If you hadn't heard, the store is closing all locations so they're having an everything must go sale {most items are 40 percent off, but I'd wait a few weeks until prices are discounted ever further}.
Last week I showed you how I scored more than $200 worth of clothes for just $9.96 {check out my latest thrift store haul}, but I really love when you guys show me your style {hence the collage above!}. You've been using the #ThriftyThreads365 hashtag so we can all keep track of everyone's progress. And this month, I was really impressed with one Thrifty Threads 365 participant's styling skills.

My latest thrift shopping haul for the month of January
Yesterday I hit up my fave midtown thrift store, Salvation Army on 46th St, and struck thrift gold after less than an hour. I wasn't exactly looking for anything in particular, but I'm always on the look out for more dresses. Also, Wednesday is Family Day, so most clothes and accessories are half off.
My final bill was just under 10 bucks and I walked away with great pieces I can wear now and easily transition in to spring.

Remember my last thrift store haul when I found these leather, rubber sole booties? I immediately scooped them up because I knew they'd be perfect, especially for winter. Flats are for easy walking and stilettos can be tricky, but a rubber sole bootie is stylish and easy to navigate slippery terrain.
I finally took the booties for a spin last week when the streets of NYC were slushy.
