The year is almost wrapped and I want to end on a high note. And that's why I'm collaborating with Goodwill for a fashion event called Ready, Set, Thrift! and if you're in the New York City area, you're invited.
On Thursday, December 6 from 6-8pm, we'll get together at the Goodwill Chelsea boutique for a fashion challenge that will combine thrifting and a chance to win prizes.

Housing Works Buy the Bag returns

One of the questions I frequently get is, "when does the Buy the Bag sale return?" If you're not familiar, the Housing Works Buy the Bag sale was held on weekends during the summer and you could purchase an entire bag of clothes and accessories for $25. Yup, whatever you could fit in a bag was yours for just $25.The scene was a bit hectic, but that's understandable when amazing secondhand goods are up for grabs. Housed in a large warehouse space, shoppers had to dig through bins for serious hidden treasures. During previous Buy the Bag sales I found hundreds, even thousands of dollars in clothing for just 25 bucks. Pieces ranged from Tracy Reese dresses, a Celine cardigan, Club Monaco skirts and even a pair of Chanel pumps.Normally the sales were in a warehouse on Saturday afternoons in the summer and early fall, but Housing Works Buy the Bag is back with a new location you can shop year round and throughout the week.

If you're a serious thrifter like me, then a good portion of your wardrobe comes from thrift and vintage stores, eBay, flea markets, etc. Not only can you create a unique style by rocking secondhand threads, but now, you can even earn some serious cash.I first learned about Thrift Store Runway earlier this year when they contacted me about being a judge. Judge what, you ask?The site is a virtual fashion show for those who love to thrift. Thrifters submit their best Thrifty Threads outfits and the winner can receive up to $500.

This past week has made one thing clear: Fall is here! I woke up on Saturday morning and temps were in the 40s. The 40s!! I have quite a few coats and jackets thanks to last year's Salvation Army coat sale {I bought 5 coats and jackets for $100} ** so I just threw on my fave leather jacket and a tribal print scarf.

But after stepping outside, I realized this weather has some folks confused. I saw some people in heavy parkas while others were just in sweaters. And it's hard not to be confused when it's in the 40s one day and the next the mercury is in the low 70s.
Luckily, there are quite a few jackets on the market that will keep you warm {but not too warm}, are stylish and less than $100.

Today Show fashion segment

Last week I told you guys about my upcoming Today Show appearance. Well, it aired live on Tuesday morning and hopefully you had a chance to watch it. But if not, you can check out the clip below. I also wanted to show you some behind the scenes photos.
The segment was about how women of all ages {they ranged from 30 to 61} and sizes {4 to 12} can rock trends. And since I'm all about a deal, everything was less $100.
Though I love printed garments, some people are a bit curious as to how to actually wear them. Check out the clip below to see various ways you can incorporate the trend in a way that works for you, from tips to mix prints to how to use accessories to jazz up your everyday wardrobe.
