Looking Fly on a Dime patrice williams, blogiversary

Based on the title you can tell what today's post is about. It's my four year blogiversary!! On September 1, 2009 I started this blog and had no idea what it would lead to. I had been laid off from my job at InStyle magazine and just needed a creative outlet and something to break up the monotony of freelance gigs. Fast forward a few years later and from thrift shopping tips to how to wear it style guides to multiple television appearances {Today Show, WE tv, Nate Berkus Show, etc.}, we've come a long way.
And since I love my awesome, stylish, loyal readers so much, I'm hosting a giveaway for a $50 Kohl's gift card.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Target fall preview and as expected, it was amazing. This time around, Target allowed us to share photos of the upcoming collection before it hits stores. The pieces don't make their way to Target and target.com until August, so I'm glad I can actually share these with you. And trust me, you'll want to see these goods now so you can make a mental note of your must have items. While viewing the men's and women's pieces, a few things became very clear: prints are still going strong {tribal, ikat, camo} and faux leather accents will be your best friend. Though everything is trendy and fashion forward, they're also work appropriate. In between munching on light bites and sipping on OJ, I snapped a few pics. Take a peek at Target's upcoming fall line.

june ambrose shoe line
June Ambrose is the stylist to the stars {Jay-Z, Mary J, Missy, etc} and now she's bringing her sartorial touch to a foot near you. At the end of the week she's releasing a line of shoes with the Home Shopping Network.
June dresses the best in the biz, but she's also known for her own stand out style {be sure to follow her on Instagram if you're not already} and skyscraper height heels and designer labels. But this collection is for the woman who loves functionality and affordability.
Starting at just $59, each shoe is named after an iconic woman and there's something for everyone's taste.
Check out some styles from the June Ambrose for Theme collection at HSN.

how to wear black and whiteLast week I showed you the 5 wardrobe staples to buy at thrift stores, and this week it's all about the trends. Every season the runways of New York, Paris and London dictate what's in and what's out for the coming months. And though everyone clamors for what's "new," some of these trends are simply revamped classics that are just having a moment. Like seriously, when is leather not on trend? And this is a great thing if you're in to {or want to get in to thrifting}. If you're not willing to invest in a trend, the secondhand store is a great option, but also, since fashion is so cyclical, you'll find many of the "new" trends at your Goodwill, Salvation Army or your thrift store of choice.Check out three easy to find and easy to wear trends you can score from a thrift store.

Marilyn Monroe, summer sundressAnother week, another new collection from one of our favorite retail chains. The latest one comes from Macy's. The retailer is debuting a line inspired by a cinematic icon.

Starting this month, macys.com and 150 Macy's stores will carry the Marilyn Monroe line. Priced at $29-$89, it aims to recreate the "icon's noteworthy personality this spring," according to a press release. It features lightweight summer dresses, cropped tops and shorts perfect for a breezy spring or hot summer day.
