When it's chilly out, but I still want to wear a dress and no tights, a long skirt is my go-to fashion choice. I purchased this Calvin Klein skirt a few months ago for less than $10 and it's safe to say I'm in love with her. I first wore the skirt during Fashion Week. Back then I paired it with a vintage crop top, but this time around I wanted a more conservative look for church. But of course I had to throw in a sporty jacket to mix it up.

September was a really great month for me. Besides releasing my thrift shopping book and celebrating my 5-year blogiversary, I had some amazing thrift store scores. I'm talking about vintage threads and designer duds for next to nothing.
Under my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge, I can only spend a total of $50 each month. How much was my September tally? Just $8. Yes, less than $10 for the 25 or so items I thrifted. Check out how I did it, my favorite picks and thrift outfits for September.

If you weren't in NYC this weekend, well that sucks for you {just kidding!}. But seriously, you missed another awesome Ready, Set, Thrift! event. I hosted my second thrift shopping party at Housing Works Buy the Bag and we had a night of thrift shopping {$25 for a bag of clothing), raffles of designer and vintage goods, drinks, cupcakes and an informative panel discussion.
Here's what you missed at Ready, Set, Thrift!

Today is the big day. My book, Looking Fly on a Dime: How to Find Fabulous Fashion at Any Thrift Shop & Make the Cheap Look Chic, is available for purchase.

This book has been a long time coming and I'm so happy it's finally come to fruition. While I've been blogging for five years and often share my thrift and style tips, I really wanted to provide my readers with a comprehensive, A to Z guide of thrift shopping. This book is broken down into three parts and covers:
*what to do before you hit the thrift store {how to find one, best days to go, etc.}
*top strategies while you shop {what sections of the store to hit first, how to cut down on buyer's remorse}
*how to clean your thrift shop clothes and style them to make the cheap clothing look expensive

Before you purchase your copy of Looking Fly on a Dime, here are three things you should know.

I'm so excited to be hosting another Ready, Set, Thrift! party with Housing Works. And not just at any Housing Works location, but their awesome Buy the Bag shop where clothing is $25 per bag. Yes, 25 bucks for an entire bag of clothing. In the past I've stuffed 40+ items in a single bag.
Too see how you can score tickets {which just went on sale!}, keep reading!
