Allow me to introduce myself…

I’m cheap! Well, that’s not my name but it might as well be. More than loving to save a buck or two, I love to live well.

I moved to New York two years ago, landed a gig at a fashion magazine and had a salary that was down right appalling, but I was determined I wouldn’t let my salary determine my standard of living. Of course there were some nights I ate Ramen after handing over 2 weeks’ pay to my landlord, but I knew that wouldn’t stop me from truly living life (sharing laughs with friends over drinks, whipping out a new dress for a night on the town, packing a duffel bag for a weekend trip…all while contributing to my 401K).

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always lived on less. I never grew up with money and Payless was my reluctant best friend. I used to be so ashamed of this but now I proudly proclaim if I score a pair of shoes for less than the cost of a day’s lunch.

I started to notice I was always coming across amazing deals and I would get SO EXCITED. Sorry for the caps, but I really, truly feel endorphins rushing through my body when I get a good deal. I guess it makes me feel like I’m sticking it to “the man” and score one for the little guy gal.

$3 drinks= happy. $152 round trip ticket to Belize= really happy. 50 cents for a pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans= uber happy to the nth degree.

So, I figured I’d share my thrifty living tips on food, fashion, travel and more, for all to enjoy.

However you define “fly” (cool, awesome, sweet, stylish, hip), it’s possible to live it on a dime.
