One of fall’s essential accessories is the scarf. And no wonder! From decorative silk to thick and knitted, this one piece has the power to transform a plain outfit into something poised and polished, all while keeping you cozy. Available in many different prints, fabrics and colors, there's a scarf for any and everyone!

Instead of taking your scarf off when you reach the office, this week's Cubicle Chic shows you how to incorporate the accessory into your wardrobe all day long. It's the ultimate in fashion and function.

Last week was all about how to rock a bodycon dress from day to night, but for this week's Thrifty Threads, I wanted a look that was comfortable and chic for day to night,
When it comes to versatility, I'm really feeling jumpsuits. So I knew I had to whip out my Uniqlo jumper I scored from the Salvation Army. I previously wore this $7 jumpsuit in the dead of winter, but now I stripped down a few layers for a spring look.

To say that it's been cold would be a serious understatement. With temperatures below zero and snow that never seems to cease, the last thing on my mind was wearing something cute or teetering around in heels, but...I found an outfit that was fashionable and functional.
My cold days aren't complete without my Ellen Tracy cape {get it here in black} I scored from Loehmann's two years ago. Seriously, investing in outerwear is a must, especially if you live in a colder climate.
Every other garment I rocked was straight from my favorite thrift stores: vintage Balenciaga booties {less than $1 from Housing Works Buy the Bag}, purse, vintage blouse, beaded jacket and Uniqlo jumpsuit from the Salvation Army. They all came together for a look that combined fashion and function.

On Wednesday I did what I haven't done in about a month: I went to the Salvation Army for some serious shopping. The last time I went, the inventory was weak and I left empty handed, but this time around, the thrift gods must have been shining down on me. The Salvation Army at 46th Street is usually my go-to destination for dresses and an occasional vintage gem, especially sequin tops and button downs. And that's exactly what I found on Wednesday.* I kept pulling one amazing piece after another. *Remember, the Salvation Army has Family Day sales on Wednesday, so most clothes and accessories are 50 percent off.*My total damage was $85. Yes, $85!! But this was ok for a few reasons. 1. I haven't been thrifting in months {shocking, right?}. 2. The items were literally worth hundreds. One dress alone would have originally retailed for $300.
