Have you ever had an outfit that you planned around an amazing pair of shoes? Well, that's what I did with my most recent thrifty threads look.The weather in NYC was a bit mild and I wanted to whip out my Betsey Johnson sequin pumps from Marshall's. I'm a lover of all things sequins, so these shoes are my babies. I paired them with a few other cheap chic finds for a perfect spring look.

This is a pretty plain body con dress, but the detailing at the waist is what made me thrift it from the Salvation Army.

Last week I announced the debut of Adventures in Thrifting {monthly trips where we hit up different thrift stores in the city}and I've finally set a date. The first outing will be on Saturday, April 30 at 10:30 am. As I stated in an earlier post, each "Adventure" will have a theme and April's theme is "The Big Three." If you've been following my blog for a while, you know my favorite thrift stores in NYC are Goodwill, Salvation Army and Housing Works. And there's a street in NYC...

This weekend I did something a little different...I went thrifting on a weekend. I typically go during the week, on a day off or on my lunch break, so I can avoid massive crowds. But I was pleasantly surprised that the Salvation Army was practically empty. Well, not empty, there were about a dozen people. I normally visit the Salv {46th St. between 10th and 11th} on Wednesday when most clothing is 50 percent off, but on this Saturday visit, all blue ticket items were half off.I didn't have to deal with a crowd and I walked away with great items. Check out my finds: tons of color and a brand spankin' new pair of BCBG pants {originally $188 for less than 10 bucks!}.I love that the store now has a small rack designated for vintage finds.

{i fell hard for this frock but upon closer inspection it was stained}
