A reader recently emailed me and wrote, "Patrice, what percentage of your wardrobe is thrifted? I'd love to see your closet!"I've been an avid thrifter for a few years and since I started my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge, thrift shopping is my only source of clothing. At this point, I'd say 60 percent of my wardrobe is courtesy of thrifting {here are a few of my favorite thrift stores}. And 60 percent is a conservative estimate. There are some items, like tops and dresses, that I thrift more than others.I recently moved from my cramped Harlem studio and my new closet is a small walk in, which makes organization a bit easier.Check out the pics below of how I organize my closet as well as how I store accessories using push pins and shower hooks.

If you need to know one thing about me {besides my love of thrifting}, it's that I hate the heat. Like, I seriously hate it unless there's a nearby body of water for me to cool off in. And unfortunately for me, it's been pretty hot in NYC and pretty much throughout the country. One morning the Weather Channel described the temps as "dangerous and oppressive." Geez!

On days when you're practically sweating before you even step foot out of the door, what to wear can be a serious dilemma. I knew I'd be out all day last weekend at the Brooklyn Flea market and then I was heading straight to my homie Danielle's {i.e. The Style & Beauty Doctor} Tweet Your Face Off party, so I wanted a look that was comfortable but still cute of course.

You guys remember when I purchased this vintage dress from the Salvation Army? It was initially bought for my LA trip to see a taping of Oprah's final post Oscar show. But the weather was a bit crisp so she stayed packed away in my luggage. Well I finally got around to wearing it five months later.A lime green dress with shoulder pads sounds all wrong but it's the details that make this frock so fun: draping at the waist, deep v-neck and paisley like print.

My schedule can be unpredictable but there are two things in life that are {usually} guaranteed on a Sunday: church and brunch. A relaxing brunch is the perfect way to unwind before beginning another work week.

This week I caught up with my friend Johara from Luvin' My Curves and we decided to hit up Kitchenette in Tribeca. The restaurant's known for its down home cooking.I wanted a ladylike frock that was church appropriate but also comfy for the near 90 degree temps, so rocked the little white dress I recently picked up from the Salvation Army. But first, let's talk about the food, which was beyond amazing.

The weather in NYC has been so schizo lately. Though we experienced summer like temps in spring, off and on rainy days and nights were pretty common this week.So what's a girl to do on a lazy Saturday when the weather won't cooperate? She plays dress up of course. And that's exactly what I did.You guys know how I learned to walk in heels? I would play dress up with my grandma's heels. I'd flop around the house in her size 9's. I couldn't wait to grow up so I could wear pretty, "pointy" shoes like her.Fast forward 25 years and I have a serious love for tulle. It's ultra girly and super feminine. When I spied this blush skirt at the Goodwill in Greenwich Village I knew I had to have it. This is the perfect piece to slip on when you want to have a little fun.
