Earlier this week I attended a rooftop party and wanted a look that was pretty simple but cute, which is always my goal when I get dressed! Do you have any old pieces in your closet you haven’t worn in forever, but you just can’t seem to part with them? Yeah, of course you do.I purchased a yellow tube dress three years ago for about $20 and I haven’t worn it in at least two years. Once upon a time I loved it, I really did, but I realized the hem was way too long (at 5’2, any dress that hits below my knees makes me look like a teeny Lollipop Kid!) and the elastic started to wear out.

But I still didn’t want to get rid of it. I decided to take items in my closet and rework the ill-fitting dress into a new outfit. Click more to see how I used basic pieces (crisp white shirt, belt and necklaces) to create a fresh look.

Last week I celebrated the big 2-8 and wanted to rock a fierce pair of heels. If I'm wearing a dramatic shoe, the rest of my look is pretty subdued.
