When and why did you start thrift shopping? I started thrifting when I had my daughter, Selah. We had no idea the sex of the baby and didn't have much clothing for her when she was born. Family and friends gave us lots of girl clothes, but she was out growing them too quickly! So my hubby encouraged me to hit the local Salvation Army and I quickly discovered lots of awesome baby clothes. I'm now forever a thrifty shopper.
What three words would you use to describe your style? Classy. Modest. Bold.

thrift shopping tour, looking fly on a dime tourLast weekend was my first group thrift shopping tour of the season and we had a great time. In between helping shoppers score some cheap chic finds, I was able to snag a few items for myself. And of course I want to share what I bought as well as some tips I gave the thrifters on the tour.One recurring theme was how to step out of your style comfort zone, particularly when it comes to ditching a neutral heavy wardrobe and embracing color.

*This week's Thriftspiration is a bit different, as Thrift Society exclusively uses secondhand clothes for photo shoots.  All of the photos are from shoots they've styled with thrifty threads.
When and why did you start thrift shopping? When I was about five years old my grandma would take me to the "used store" and give me a few bucks so I could get what I wanted. I thought it was the coolest thing! When I got to high school I would look in fashion magazines for inspiration and recreate the look with mostly thrifted items.
What three words would you use to describe your style? My personal style is corporate, hippie and fashionista. As far as styling it depends on the vision for the shoot or the model.

Last weekend I hosted my first Adventures in Thrifting thrift shopping tour of the season and it was a blast.While helping a few readers update their wardrobe and inject some serious color in their closet, I managed to snag a few pieces for myself from Goodwill and Salvation Army. *check back next week for my small thrift shopping haul*As I reached the register at Goodwill, I realized I didn't set a budget for myself.
