A few weeks ago I went to the store opening of Spring Shoes at the Manhattan Mall in NYC. I had never heard of Spring, the more affordable sister company of Aldo but I was pleasantly surprised.Spring Shoes has everything you’d expect from Aldo: dressy and casual shoes for men and women and tons of accessories. The shoes varied from strappy stilettos to rocker chic boots and most are priced in the $40-$60 range. The line also has a full range of accessories, including handbags and jewelry. The company was kind enough to give everyone in attendance a $150 gift card, but the party was so full of bloggers and editors, I didn’t get a chance to try on the cute shoes {there weren’t enough employees on deck to accommodate us}. Sigh. However, I made my way back to the store this weekend to take advantage of the gift card (remember,  my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge only lets me indulge in new clothes or accessories if they’re courtesy of a gift). I love my thrift shopping but I rarely find shoes and accessories so I wanted to rack up on these items and spend every penny on the card!Click more to see what I scored (2 pairs of shoes, earrings and 3 necklaces) and what I really thought of Spring Shoes.

I had some left over trimmings from the DIY Bloggers Challenge and I felt inspired to make a pretty little creation. Bib necklaces were huge last season and they're still going strong. The statement making pieces are a great way to add flair to a plain tank or bare neckline. I used this Express necklace (above, left) as inspiration for my one of a kind piece.
