Staying Warm and Stylish on Game Day

It may shock some people to know that I’m a big MMA fan, but it also may {or may not?} shock you to know I’ve never been to a professional sporting event. Even back in high school when my school’s football team was state champs {go Hackensack Comets!}, I never attended a single game.
However, I have started watching football. It all started about two or three years ago when I went to a Super Bowl party and instead of just eating buffalo wings with blue cheese, I actually watched the game. And I liked it. Like, I was really getting into it. I still don’t fully understand the rules, but it’s entertaining.
And my team of choice has become the Pittsburgh Steelers. Though I have yet to go to a game, when I do make it there, I’ll be decked out in style with some threads from the NFL Shop. This look is fashionable but still warm enough for game day!

nfl-fan-style-steelers-game-day-style-fashionable-football This was my first time shopping the NFL Shop site, but the experience was super easy. The clothing is broken down by team, specific apparel and there’s even a section for tailgating and your home office.

I naturally ventured to the Steelers page and quickly added the v-neck logo sweater to my cart. I’ve gotta admit, the thing that made me initially notice the Steelers is their colors. Y’all know I love bright hues! Though the sweater clearly reps for the team, this can be super stylish even on non-game days.
I naturally layer most sweaters with a button down underneath, but this sweater is so warm I would have been perfectly toasty without doing so. The faux leather skirt {thrifted a few years ago!} has a bit of a cheerleader vibe thanks to the length and pleats. And while heels are my natural default, on game day it’s definitely about being comfortable and occasion appropriate, so I wore these low boots with a leopard detail in the back. Again, this look reps for the team but it doesn’t require me to lose my individual sense of style. And the utility jacket has a bit of a sporty feel but the back detail adds extra style points.
Finally, am I the only one who had no idea Alex and Ani has NFL themed bracelets? Because I’m a fan of their bangles, this selection was a no brainer. If you know a sports fan who also loves a good accessory, this would be a cool gift option, in addition to or in lieu of the typical team jersey, sweatshirt, etc.
