How to Determine What Your Wardrobe is Missing {Find Your Fashion Holes!}
All too often our closets are full of the stuff we love but sometimes not the pieces we need. These are your fashion holes. I know, “holes” sounds weird but these are the areas you’re missing a few style essentials.

If you’re trying to define your style, here’s how to determine your fashion holes and what you really need to complete your wardrobe.

The easiest way to determine what your closet needs is to think back to a garment or outfit you love…but have never worn. You seriously love looking at it in your closet, you have places to wear it, but it’s just not happening. When you have nothing to wear something with, that’s where you have a fashion hole.

For example, I have adorable dresses and skirts I want to rock with sneakers. It’s a current trend, but this look is also comfortable and chic. Besides my workout kicks and a pair of uncomfortable Chucks, I realized I had no sneakers! My closet was just heels and some winter boots.This created a major hole for me.

I changed that quickly by purchasing sneakers from Payless {last seen in this Thrifty Threads post}. I love these so much that last week I bought another pair in red {as well as Christian Siriano lace up pumps}.

You may have experienced something similar. If you’ve had the conversation, “I love this, but I don’t know what to wear with it” or “I want to wear this but I don’t have ______ to wear with it!” then that’s where you can start to figure out what your wardrobe is missing.

Also, if you love one particular style of clothing or accessory, you may realize that there’s little balance in other areas. Like I mentioned above, I love heels, but that was no excuse for me to not have a single pair of sneakers that I can just kick around in. Or if you love all neutrals, it can be great to add in a bit of color.

Once you’ve figured out what your closet needs, don’t get discouraged, but instead feel empowered. Make a mental note, or even a note in your phone, of the stuff you need. When you fill these “holes” you’ll really be able to maximize your wardrobe!
