16 Aug Fab, Fit and Frugal: Finding Bliss in Stressful Times
Like most people, I’m stressed. And lately I seem to be really stressed. Between running the site, freelance writing and launching a few projects, my time and patience is stretched thin. A few years ago I went on an amazing 10-day meditation retreat, but when I can’t get away, it’s important for me to find blissful moments wherever I am.
Lately, I’ve found bliss at my desk. I know, that’s a bit ironic seeing as how work has been stressing me out, but a few key pieces make all the difference.
My desk is opposite a large window, which ensures I get tons of sunlight. When you’re locked in doors and working for hours, a little bit of natural sunlight can instantly boost your mood. Also, I keep a few cutesy items on my desk, like an astrological jewelry stand from Urban Outfitters and a few yummy smelling tea light candles. I’m obsessed with elephants, so a few of the gentle giants are always around, like my bookend from Home Goods. And my comfy leopard chair is such a step up from the boring desk chairs.
You can also see a bottle of neuro Bliss on my desk. The product claims to reduce stress, enhance mood and provide focused concentration. It’s only 35 calories and contains chamomile, vitamins and antioxidants. I can’t say for sure whether neuro Bliss reduced my stress, but it’s definitely refreshing. It’s lightly carbonated {great for a former soda addict like myself!}, has a citrus-y taste and is amazing when served ice cold.
Another way I unwind? When I’m feeling a little down and need some encouragement, I whip out my “blessings” bottle. It’s just a $1 mason jar filled with colorful marbles and Post-Its of things, people or places that have made me happy or any past achievements I’m really proud of. My mood immediate perks up and I feel more hopeful when I can look back on good times and know that there will be more to come.
We all have our own ways of unwinding and finding our happy place and luckily, neuro Bliss is hosting a BLISS & Tell contest. Share your favorite blissful moment and you can enter for a chance to win a $10,000 dream vacation.
neuro Bliss is available at stores like Target, Walgreens and 7-11. You can even get $1 off any neuro drink with the coupon below!
