HOME SAVVY, PATRICE J WILLIAMSLast month I told you guys about my new gig as the host of Madame Noire's Home Savvy show. Well, the first episode just debuted! The entire season is all about upgrading your living space in easy, affordable ways. Episode one is dedicated to creating a summer window box to bring life and vibrancy to your home.Though you only get to see the upper half of my body, I had to give you the full rundown of my outfit...

how to wear a graphic t-shirt, how to wear a graphic tee shirtWhat: Aphillyated tank tops and t-shirts Why: Summer is right around the corner and we all need one {or several!} graphic shirts we can rock throughout the season and even layered under a blazer once the weather gets colder.I always love learning about new {or at least new to me} clothing companies and I was really excited to be introduced to Aphillyated. I spent four years in Philadelphia while at Temple University and the 215 will always have a special place in my heart. The Aphillyated line combines three things I love: Philly, fashion and affordability.

how to mix prints, how to wear printsI constantly hear women say, "I could never wear that," and sometimes it's in regards to prints. I get it. Prints can be intimidating. They're busy. You never know what to wear them with and if not executed the right way, can look all wrong.

But let's ditch that thinking and settle this once and for all. You. Can. Mix. Prints.Depending on your style {casual, edgy, chic, etc.}, that determines how you'll want to wear them. Last week's Thriftspiration subject was Luna and one photo I absolutely loved {and which inspired this post} was her belted blazer over a mini dress. The two prints don't "match," but she stuck to rule numero uno for mixing prints.

Home Savvy show, Patrice J. WilliamsWell, judging from the title, you know what my happy news is. I've been holding it in for a few weeks now, but I can finally say I'm the new host of MadameNoire's Home Savvy show.

If you're not familiar with Home Savvy, it's an online show about improving your home. In conjunction with Home Depot, we break down the 1-2-3 of creating an amazing indoor and even outdoor living space. Psst: Home Depot isn't just a supplier of appliances and paint, but can meet all of your decor needs. The final casting was between myself and three other amazing ladies. The last stage of the process was made a few weeks ago during an in-house audition at Home Depot. We each had two minutes to put together a container garden and were judged on personality, creativity and delivery. Though you know the final outcome, check the video below to see how it all went down and how I reacted to being announced as the new Home Savvy host.

how to make clothes look expensiveI hate the word "cheap," but let's face it, some wallet-friendly clothes can look, well, cheap! The material is a bit flimsy, the embellishments are falling off and overall they do little for your wardrobe. But of course affordable clothes and accessories don't have to look like you found them in the clearance bin. And there are ways to turn an otherwise cheap chic find in to something that has a luxe feel.Whether you're thrifting or shopping at an affordable chain, below are five easy ways to make the cheap look chic and even give them a more personalized feel.
