Do you have any old pieces in your closet you haven’t worn in forever, but you just can’t seem to part with them? Yeah, of course you do.I purchased a yellow tube dress three years ago for about $20 and I haven’t worn it in at least two years. Once upon a time I loved it, I really did, but I realized the hem was way too long (at 5’2, any dress that hits below my knees makes me look like a teeny Lollipop Kid!) and the elastic started to wear out.

But I still didn’t want to get rid of it. I decided to take items in my closet and rework the ill-fitting dress into a new outfit. Click more to see how I used basic pieces (crisp white shirt, belt and necklaces) to create a fresh look.

Last week I celebrated the big 2-8 and wanted to rock a fierce pair of heels. If I'm wearing a dramatic shoe, the rest of my look is pretty subdued. I went for an all black attire so my floral strap sandals were the center of attention.
