HOME SAVVY, PATRICE J WILLIAMSLast month I told you guys about my new gig as the host of Madame Noire's Home Savvy show. Well, the first episode just debuted! The entire season is all about upgrading your living space in easy, affordable ways. Episode one is dedicated to creating a summer window box to bring life and vibrancy to your home.Though you only get to see the upper half of my body, I had to give you the full rundown of my outfit...

Home Savvy show, Patrice J. WilliamsWell, judging from the title, you know what my happy news is. I've been holding it in for a few weeks now, but I can finally say I'm the new host of MadameNoire's Home Savvy show.

If you're not familiar with Home Savvy, it's an online show about improving your home. In conjunction with Home Depot, we break down the 1-2-3 of creating an amazing indoor and even outdoor living space. Psst: Home Depot isn't just a supplier of appliances and paint, but can meet all of your decor needs. The final casting was between myself and three other amazing ladies. The last stage of the process was made a few weeks ago during an in-house audition at Home Depot. We each had two minutes to put together a container garden and were judged on personality, creativity and delivery. Though you know the final outcome, check the video below to see how it all went down and how I reacted to being announced as the new Home Savvy host.

Kiss Nail Dress versus Sally Hansen Salon EffectsI love a fly design on my nails but I have little to no patience to wait for them to dry. I'm such a busy body that keeping my hands idle is a serious challenge. And if I give myself a mani at night, which I typically do, then I usually wake up in the morning with imprints from my sheets on my nails.
So while at the beauty supply store a few weeks ago, I was anxious to try Kiss Nail Dress stickers. Just like the Sally Hansen Salon Effects, they're stickers that give you a funky design like Minx, but there's no drying time and they last up to 10 days. I tried Salon Effects last year and I really liked them. Kiss was a few bucks cheaper than Sally Hansen so I wanted to see how they compared. I was looking forward to giving myself a $6 manicure that required no drying time.

Today I'm deviating from the normal budget fashion and thrift tips to tell you guys how I spent my weekend. My friends and I hosted a vision board party. I'm a serious believer in the power of words and positive thoughts so my girl Danielle, The Frugal Fatshionista, and I decided to get together with the girls for a night of sharing our future hopes and goals with one another. And of course we had a great time without spending much cash. We set the scene at Danielle's place. We had affordable eats {everyone brought something to snack on and some takeout from Domino's} and items like plates, forks and even plastic wine glasses were from the dollar store. Seriously, the dollar store is my go-to place for party decorations and settings.
