looking fly on a dime thrifty threads

It was announced a few months ago that Kohl's was creating a DesigNation collection with Catherine Malandrino and it's finally here. The Kohl's for Catherine Malandrino line finally hits stores nationwide on Friday. I attended the preview this summer and my initial thoughts were: clean, chic and so Parisian. Kohl's was gracious enough to send me a few pieces and they didn't disappoint. One of my favorite garments has to be fit and flare pleated dress. Seriously, this is what I'd call the ultimate little black dress for the season.

Kohl's rock & republic jeans, rock & republic for kohl's

I've never been a fan of boyfriend jeans. If I must do denim, I'm a proud member of team skinny jeans {I own more than a dozen pairs}. Though I never full on hated boyfriend jeans, the relaxed, semi-sloppy fit just isn't my thing, especially since I'm only 5'2.  But I always encourage you guys to step out of your style box, I decided to take my own advice.I'm a huge fan of Kohl's and when they contacted me about a jean campaign for their Rock & Republic line, I jumped at the opportunity. I did something out of the ordinary and selected a pair of boyfriend jeans to style.

Last week I had the opportunity to work with Loehmann's again {I was their Fashion Week blog ambassador} and I jumped at the chance. When I'm not thrifting, I refuse to pay full retail so Loehmann's is a perfect fit, as they offer up to 65 percent off department store prices. They selected a few bloggers and style experts to participate in their private Friends and Family events throughout the NYC store. The shops shut down early for select customers to enjoy additional discounts and a fun party atmosphere.I was joined by Misha of The Fab Chick and Annika of Leather & Lacquer. We made our way to the New Hyde Park location to assist customers in styling their new threads.

june ambrose shoe line
June Ambrose is the stylist to the stars {Jay-Z, Mary J, Missy, etc} and now she's bringing her sartorial touch to a foot near you. At the end of the week she's releasing a line of shoes with the Home Shopping Network.
June dresses the best in the biz, but she's also known for her own stand out style {be sure to follow her on Instagram if you're not already} and skyscraper height heels and designer labels. But this collection is for the woman who loves functionality and affordability.
Starting at just $59, each shoe is named after an iconic woman and there's something for everyone's taste.
Check out some styles from the June Ambrose for Theme collection at HSN.

how to wear black and whiteLast week I showed you the 5 wardrobe staples to buy at thrift stores, and this week it's all about the trends. Every season the runways of New York, Paris and London dictate what's in and what's out for the coming months. And though everyone clamors for what's "new," some of these trends are simply revamped classics that are just having a moment. Like seriously, when is leather not on trend? And this is a great thing if you're in to {or want to get in to thrifting}. If you're not willing to invest in a trend, the secondhand store is a great option, but also, since fashion is so cyclical, you'll find many of the "new" trends at your Goodwill, Salvation Army or your thrift store of choice.Check out three easy to find and easy to wear trends you can score from a thrift store.
