I’m pretty much all over the place. I have a million different things to do and at least a dozen deadlines at any given moment. Also, I tend to get pretty overwhelmed at the drop of a dime {I’m working on that!}. But one way I’ve been able to tackle pretty much any large task is to be conscious of my work space. I finally got out of the habit of doing work in bed, so I knew it was time to have a designated work space. But not just any space, I needed something that was functional, aided in my productivity and because I love all things fly, it needed to be fashionable and a reflection of me.And also since I do everything on a budget, I achieved the perfect desk space for just a few bucks with the help of Walmart.Chic desk space with leopard chair

Time. It's a tricky thing. We never seem to have enough of it. Or we're trying to speed things up because we have our heart and mind set on a desired outcome.Like a lot of people, I'm impatient. I hate waiting and have a now, now, now attitude. So, the fact that I'm embarking a 10-day meditation retreat is laughable to some people {and even to myself!}. This is 10 days of silence, meditation, no wifi, phones, books, pen, paper. Nothing! Oh, and a vegetarian diet...and I am *not* a vegetarian.looking-fly-on-a-dime-sears-metaphor-collection-work-wear-what-to-wear-to-work-VINTAGE-mickey-sweatshirt

I can't tell you how many times I've rolled my eyes at a boring Instagram Story or YouTube video that's just unnecessarily long. Seriously, I won't even watch a YouTube clip that's more than 10 minutes. I know it's sad, but we're all inundated with media and content, you have to grab people's attention. Immediately. And a 10-plus minute video shows me I can't be bothered. Or if someone is wearing or doing something totally distracting? I can't even focus on the message they're trying to get across.
Appearance is everything. As superficial as that may sound, it's true. We all judge a book by its cover and fashion is the language we speak before we even open our mouths.
So today's post is going to be a little different than my typical "style" topics, but it still incorporates fashion.
This is specifically for you if you want to rep your brand and get in front of the camera {on television, Instagram Story, Instagram Live or YouTube} but you're just not so confident and/or don't want to bore your audience. And these same tips apply even if you just want to be a better public speaker.
It's all about what to do and especially what you wear.

After doing a massive closet purge and clean out about two years ago {I ditched a fourth of my wardrobe!}, I realized a few things: I had too much stuff I never wore and I actually like wearing the same pieces over and over. When it comes to the latter, I'm totally fine with that. I know what I love, what works for my body type, my lifestyle and what just makes me smile every time I wear it. And for me, that means red. It's my power color and I totally didn't realize this until after I completed the Try It, Wear It, Love It style challenge. And if you want to pare your wardrobe down a bit or mix and match what you already have, it's totally easy to do.LookingFlyonaDimeThriftyThreads

Earlier this month, Target, my beloved bullseye boutique debuted a new collection and it's kind of a big deal. I mean, who doesn't love Target?! But this line in particular was a really exciting venture because per usual, it's affordable, but more importantly, every garment in the collection goes up to a size 26 {versus just some items being plus}. Also, there's a heavy focus on denim, which is an item most women find difficult to shop for {check out Fitting Room Tips to Find the Best Jeans...after you're done reading this!}.
Of course it was my civic fashion duty to check out the Universal Thread line in person, try on pieces and report back the absolute pros and a few cons. Here's another What's In Store.
