I previously posted about my love of Forever 21 jeans {they’re still going strong after 3+ years without the dreaded crotch rip!}, but while shopping at TJ Maxx last week, I found a pair of jeans that are just as affordable and fit like a glove.

Here’s how the typical jean shopping scenario goes for me: find several pairs I love, they fit at the hips and thighs, but they’re gaping at the waist!

I’m on the petite side {5’2} but like most gals, I’ve got a little bit of hips, thighs and behind. And there’s at least a 10 inch difference between my waist and hips, which makes finding jeans tough. But it turns out my luck changed with a pair of $16 skinnies by the brand Jalate.

When I tell you these fit me perfectly, they’re snug right where they need to be and the stretch gives me a bit of wiggle room {pun intended}.

Since the jeans are a bold, red hue, I opted to pair them with some neutrals. On a brisk, fall day I can’t get enough of my leather jacket I scored from the Salvation Army coat sale. I kept the leather trend going with an oversized Badgley Mischka bag courtesy of TJ Maxx {it’s only $199 in stores, but originally retailed for $450}.

The accessories were pretty minimal. Just my vintage earrings and an extra long scarf.

Hautelook credit, looking fly on a dime

And the shoes, we can’t forget about the shoes, right? I finally redeemed a credit from HauteLook and bought these rugged, yet chic boots. It took about two weeks for them to ship, but I’ve worn them non stop.

Forever 21 skinny jeans

Though my new Jalate jeans are just as affordable as the Forever 21 skinnies, time will tell if they hold up just as long.
