Spotlight: Not Just Vintage

This weekend I did something I normally don’t do: I went thrifting in
Brooklyn. I lived in Manhattan for three years so I typically stayed on the island for my thrifting adventures, except for my Goodwill Outlet trips in Long Island City.

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon and the Goodwill on Fulton Street was
my intended destination {more on that Monday} but the highlight of the
afternoon was a little shop called Not Just Vintage.

Located at 1260 Bedford Avenue, it was originally recommended to me by my friend Starr aka Gangstarr Girl.

Not Just Vintage has such a quaint mom and pop feel, but with better fashion. Bright colors, funky patterns and statement accessories were in abundance. And the prices were super affordable. The owner immediately alerted me that items outside were $2-$3, garments with an orange dot on the tag were half off and other items were 25 percent off. Music to my cheap ears!

After leafing through the racks I came across amazing print skirts and
tops. Most of the items were about $18-$25.

{purses ranged from $10-$30, plus the 25-50 percent off}

{i fell hard for these rings}

{sunglasses of all shapes and colors. how amazing is the purple pair?}

{sale bins with miscellaneous items, $2-$6}

I grabbed a few pieces and was ready to hit the dressing room.

These Ann Taylor pants were outside on the $3 rack. The fit was okay but I wasn’t really feeling them. I did however walk away with three other items.

{i was happy to give this multi-colored straw bag a home, $7.50}

{the texture of this leopard print cardigan is awesome, $8}

{red. jumpsuit. LOVE}

{details at the bodice}

{since it had an orange dot on the back, it was half off! $12.50}

The total for all three items was $29. The owner also made sure to give me a frequent shopper card. If you spend $100, you get a $10 gift card to use towards your next purchase.

I’ll definitely be back to Not Just Vintage. If you’re looking for a funky piece, NJV has a ton of options.
