How to Make Your Daily Fashion Uniform Interesting {and Far From Boring}

By now we all understand the importance of a fashion uniform. It’s the quickest way to look your best, wear what works for your figure and more importantly, get dressed in a pinch.
But the word “uniform” can sound a bit boring and even stuffy. I didn’t think about this until I attended an O Magazine and JCPenney event a few weeks ago and Gayle King brought this issue up.
If you feel a fashion uniform is a little too boring or need tips so your “uniform” doesn’t look like you’re wearing the same thing over and over, keep reading!

Just the word “uniform” can sound like something you’re forced to wear day after day. Let’s remove that negative connotation. Instead, look at this fashion formula as the go-to you know is guaranteed to make you look and feel your best. Once you’ve determined what your formula is, use that as your base and you can swap things in and out.
For example: one of my go-to looks is skinny jeans, heels, a fitted top and a finishing piece {blazer, vest or statement jacket}. The key is that I don’t wear the same jeans, heels, tops, over and over, so this keeps the look fresh. The silhouette may be the same {because I know what works best for my body!}, but the actual pieces are interchangeable.
Check out the looks below. They’re similar in formula, but the pieces are different.
 Another way to keep your uniform from looking stale is to have more than one go-to formula. While I love a skinny jean and heels, I have another formula that includes a-line dresses. Again, this works perfectly for my body and a-lines work for women of all shapes! A great dress is a one piece wonder, so no need to worry about finding a matching top. When I found this $10 vintage dress from Fox & Fawn, I knew it was a winner!

And finally, I have to mention the importance of accessories. I know you know how integral jewelry is. A necklace, earrings or bracelets can be the perfect finishing touch to really make your look pop and your uniform will be far from boring.
