Loehmann's, department store, discount department store Fashion Week is officially over in New York City and that means we know what to items will be hot for fall. We’ve seen a ton of the trends already {leather, fur, velvet, etc.} but the upcoming season has a few hot pieces that will inject serious style in to your wardrobe.

But if you don’t want to wait for fall to rock these styles and if you don’t have a designer budget, that’s not a problem. Loehmann’s is known for their discount designer prices {up to 65 percent off retail!} and you can actually shop right now for spring and summer items that incorporate fall’s upcoming trends.
Last year, the it color was oxblood. Though the name is absolutely horrible, the color is gorgeous. And it looks like we’ll see more oxblood and deep berry hues. It was on every runway from Narciso Rodriguez to Anna Sui to Diane von Furstenburg.
And it’s easy to incorporate this look with some picks from Loehmann’s.
This printed Rachel Zoe dress is less than half the original cost and works throughout the season. Wear it now with a fitted blazer and tights and in spring and summer with strappy heels or gladiator sandals. If an all over color and print isn’t your thing, you can ditch your typical black or blue jeans for oxblood ones. These jeans can be worn to work with a loose top and jacket for a night out or even in a casual work environment. And since no one really wants to heavily invest in a trend, the Calvin Klein jeans are less than $45.
I never really consider leather to be a trend since it’s so classic, but it was all over the BCBG Max Azria runway. We normally associate the material with colder months, but there’s a way to wear it in spring, other than the basic leather jacket.
I love this faux leather peplum dress at Loehmann’s for $39.99. It would look great with a few pops of color via a pair of shoes and/or a statement necklace.
Christian Siriano is usually one of my favorite shows to attend every year and there was a hint of a sportswear vibe in one look. Paired with a knit top, the drawstring waist and cuffed hem were a leather-meets-track-pants combo. Making sportswear look less than sloppy may seem tricky, but it’s totally wearable in your everyday life.
These $60 BCBG pants at Loehmann’s work really well with a stiletto and silky blouse. I would just stay away from flats or anything too casual. As a general rule, if one piece is super relaxed, the other items should have a chic factor to offer some balance.
Be sure to check out your local Loehmann’s store or shop online. If you need more style inspiration, you really want to follow the Loehmann’s Pinterest board.
And check back Wednesday to see what amazing Loehmann’s threads I wore during fashion week. Hint: I resurrected my trusty Ellen Tracy cape plus a few other goodies.
Disclosure: As a Loehmann’s blog ambassador for Fashion Week, I was provided with a gift card. All beliefs are 100 percent my own {but you already know that}!
*edit: the Loehmann’s leather “dress” is actually a two-piece: peplum top and skirt.
