07 May Why You Shouldn’t Skip the Beauty Aisle at TJ Maxx
This weekend I took a trip to TJ Maxx with my cousin and while she was looking at shoes and handbags {her weaknesses!}, I hit the beauty aisle. Besides the fact that I can’t buy new clothes and accessories due to my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge, I know the beauty options at TJ Maxx are everything!
Though TJ Maxx is known for affordable fashion, here’s why you should check out their beauty selection.
See the photo above? More importantly, do you see the brands? They include Elizabeth Arden, Peter Thomas Roth and Bliss. These items normally cost $40 and up! But at TJ Maxx they’re greatly discounted. We even found this Dr. Brandt Dark Spots No More. A one ounce bottle is normally priced at $55, but here it was just $19.99.
While the clothing options at TJ Maxx are overflowing, the beauty buys tend to be limited to a single or half aisle, so I’d suggest hitting the beauty goods up first.
And you know how I suggest having a thrift shopping wish list? Well, the same goes in this situation. You never know what brands will be on the shelves or how many items are available, so when you see something you want, snatch it up quickly. Create a beauty wish list of the top brands you love and/or are curious about but don’t want to pay full price for them. My eyes always widen when I see Clarins {their Multi-Active night cream is amazing, but 60 bucks for less than two ounces!} or Kate Somerville. They’re well worth the full price, but come on, why pay retail when you can save?
Have you ever purchased beauty products from TJ Maxx or other discount department stores? What’s been your best beauty buy and how much money did you save?
