23 Mar Video: How to Thrift Shop Like a Pro

I typically hold all thrift related posts for Thursday {gotta love Thrifty Thursday!}, but I didn’t want to delay posting this fun project. Last week I worked with StyleBlazer to film a short video on the do’s and don’ts of thrift shopping. While I see thrifting as an easy, fun pastime, I know plenty others see it as intimidating and time consuming.

As for my thrift shopping uniform, I kept it simple with a thrifted jersey knit jumpsuit, Uniqlo cardigan and ShoeDazzle sneakers. The lightweight material made it easy to move around and the sneakers were perfect for slipping in out and out {versus cumbersome laces or buckles}. My necklace was also thrifted. While I love big jewelry and hoop earrings, I try to steer clear of anything that might get tangled in my clothing while I’m trying garments on. Basically, keep it as simple {but cute!} as possible.

We filmed at the Tribeca Housing Works and though I’m a huge HW fan and shopper, it was my first time at this location. Um, I’m so glad I finally made a visit. The store was organized and had everything from flirty dresses to designer heels and statement accessories.
