Tutorial: Half Moon Manicure

I’ve seen the half moon manicure for a while now and I finally decided to give it a try. And I have to tell you, it was super easy, even for a clutz like myself. The only item I had to go out and purchase was the page reinforcers {$2} to create the half moon shape. You remember page reinforcers from your elementary school days, right? They kept your torn pages from falling out of your Trapper Keeper.

What you’ll need: base and top coat, page reinforcers, two shades of polish {I used Wet n Wild’s Sparked and Sally Hansen’s Racey Rouge}.

{apply a base coat and your first coat of polish. The first coat will be the half moon shade that’s exposed at your cuticles. Let it dry completely.}

{place the page reinforcers at the base of your cuticle. The higher up you place the reinforcer, the larger your half moon will be. Make sure it’s adhered to your nail without any gaps.}

{paint the top portion of your nail with your second polish. Remove the reinforcers before the polish dries.}

{let nails dry before applying a top coat. use a q-tip dipped in polish remover to clean up the edges.}

{rock your new mani!}
