Top Black Friday Sales + How to Shop Them

If you follow me on Twitter, then you saw my tweet about people in Ohio who lined up for Black Friday sales 10 days in advance.
Well, you clearly don’t have to be that crazed to score some major sales this Black Friday. From clothes and accessories that start at just $5 {thanks H&M} to beauty essentials for 10 bucks, you’ll have no problem finding goods for yourself or holiday gifts for the ones you love. And since “Black Friday” sales now start on Thursday {or even earlier!} for many retailers, you can start shopping now or at least devise your game plan. There are so many deals out there and it’s hard to navigate where to go {either in store or online}, so I’ve compiled 10 top Black Friday sales.
Old Navy
Get 50 percent off the entire store {!!!}. Starts on Thanksgiving night and throughout Friday. Stock up on those plush sweaters and outerwear.
Best Buy
Great deals on tablets, flat screens and more. Doors open at 6pm on Thanksgiving
Kohl’s
More than 500 Black Friday deals and get $15 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent online or in store. You can actually shop online right now and in stores starting 8pm on Thursday. I’m eying the NutriBullet and pretty much anything from the LC Lauren Conrad line.
Sephora
All of your beauty needs can be covered with Sephora’s $10 Dealtopia’s online and in stores, Friday only. Favorites include Ole Henriksen Truth to Go Wipes, Kate Somerville and more.
Target
If you can’t wait until Black Friday, they have a few pre-Black Friday sales that end today and deals include toys, apparel, electronics {they’re great for cameras} and more.
H&M
Head to stores on Black Friday for clothes for the entire family. Deals start at just 5 bucks and can be found in stores and online. And if you miss out on Black Friday deals, on Sunday {12/1} and Monday {12/2}, head to H&M’s website for 40 percent off purchases of $50 or more and get free shipping.
Modify Watches
I recently learned about these awesome watches where you can change the face and straps to create your own watch {more than 3000 possible combos} and they’re running a five day promotion. From Thanksgiving until 12/2, everything on the site is 30 percent off AND they’re giving away every 10th order for free {yes, F-R-E-E}. Promo code: EVERY10
Forever 21
On Friday they’ll have yellow tag deals with prices starting at just $3. I love F21’s accessories and you know I think Forever 21 skinny jeans are amazing and I actually prefer them over designer denim.
ShoeDazzle
You can up your shoe game from the comfort of your home with all-day deals on Friday {6am-midnight PST}: 30 percent off all sale items, 50 percent off regularly priced handbags from 5am-noon for VIP members and 30 percent off regularly priced boots and booties for VIP members.
JCPenney
Remember the houndstooth dress I fell in love with at JCP? They’ve seriously stepped their style game up and doors open at 8pm on Thursday and they’re even handing out those cute snow globes on Friday morning at 4am.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed while hunting down the deals, so here are a few Black Friday shopping tips:
  • Shop Online: Can you believe I’ve never, ever ventured out to the malls on Black Friday? I just can’t deal with the crowds. So if you can shop online, do so. There tend to be bigger deals in stores, but more and more retailers are providing equally amazing deals online.
  • Devise a Game Plan: Which store{s} are you going to? Knowing ahead of time where you’re going, what time the stores open, etc. is so important. It’ll help you feel less crazed and shopping with a strategy is so necessary on a major savings day like Black Friday.
  • Set a Budget: Part of devising a plan includes setting a budget. Those sale signs can really hypnotize you in to thinking you need something you really don’t, so set your budget and stick to it.
  • Bring a Friend: Two sets of eyes and another pair of hands is always better than one. And if you’re standing in long lines, bring your bestie along to keep you company and keep you sane.
  • Go Hands Free: Don’t be that person at the store who’s struggling in the aisles with a ton of clothes and a massive handbag. Leave your oversized purse at home. Lugging a big bag around can tire you out before you’ve really started shopping. Opt for a crossbody bag that doesn’t weigh you down.
