28 Dec Thrifty Threads: Winter Flat Boots
A good heel, specifically a patent pump, is a must in every woman’s wardrobe. But you know what a fall/winter footwear essential is? The flat boot. When it comes to versatility, there’s nothing better than this gem. Rock it with skinny jeans or a fitted dress and it’s suitable for a night out or an afternoon of running errands.
I wanted to wear the Free People dress I picked up on my recent trip to TJ Maxx but since the frock is short and form fitting, I toned it down a bit with my trusty flat boots from Deb Shops.
I knew I loved this dress when I saw it on the hanger at TJ Maxx {and the $49 price tag was even better!}, but I absolutely adored it when I stepped in to the frock on Christmas morning. Since the print is so graphic, everything else about my look was subdued, no big jewelry or big hair.
Even though I went pretty minimal with my accessories, they weren’t boring. The necklace still makes a statement without overpowering the dress and my bird earrings add a bit of whimsy.
Comfy, functional and stylish: perfect combo for shoes. Instead of basic black tights, this bright pair from H&M compliments one of the many colors in the dress.
Dress: Free People c/o TJ Maxx // Earrings: Delia’s // Necklace: gift // Tights: H&M // Boots: c/o Deb Shops
