29 Jul Thrifty Threads: Vintage Glam
After last week’s massive Housing Works haul where I snagged 29 pieces of clothing for $10, I was dying to wear one item in particular. My favorite piece had to be the polka dot halter dress my girl Danielle found for me. Though I’m not a fan of polka dots, the dress has such a vintage-y glam feel. And I decided to go all out with the glam factor and add the wide brim hat I also got from Housing Works.
Though some people would be skeptical of pairing a royal blue hat with a black dress, I love the black and blue color combo.
{my $7 Miu Miu brooch adds a fun touch. i love the ruching at the waist of the dress}
{i ditched my normal big earrings and bold bangles for a minimal feel}
{my nude Michael Kors heels from DSW give the illusion of longer legs}
Breakdown:
Dress, Hat, Brooch, Purse: thrifted // Bracelets and ring: gifts // Heels: Michael Kors
Week 47 of my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge {a full year where I only buy second-hand clothing} is down. Only 5 more weeks to go!

Posted at 03:39h, 30 JulyI have been pondering thrifting for a while and you and my old roommate have truly inspired me. Due to my location I’ve been trying to research thrift stores in my area and neighboring city and states. I’m so ready to start my own adventures in thrifting 🙂 I am going to set a “no new clothes goal” once I find the thrift stores with the best selection, store organization, and variety. My best thrift find was a vintage Dooney & Burke for $5 at a flea market. I also found another one at a large thrift store for $25. I love this blog and love all the pictures and tips you provide.
