31 Dec Thrifty Threads – Snow Bunny
NYC was hit with more than a foot of snow this past week. I had to attend a meeting and of course I needed to look presentable but warmth and sensible shoes to trek across the slushy streets was a necessity.
I knew my J. Crew boots were the perfect answer to the piles of snow. And I wanted to debut the fur coat I scored at the Salvation Army coat sale. I’ve never been a huge fan of fur but this bad boy was super soft and warm {I actually started sweating wearing it indoors while taking photos}. I’m not sure when the coat was made but it had a bit of a vintage feel to it {or at least I think so}. I was bundled up but still showcased my “casual chic” style.
{you can really see the gradation in color on the fur}
{i love the little pom pom details at the end of the drawstring collar}
{how adorable are these gold and turquoise beaded hoops?}
{the rubber is perfect for getting down and dirty in puddles and the plaid with attached ribbon adds a nice flair}
Breakdown:
Coat: thrifted for $20 or $30
Jeans: Forever 21, $12
Boots: J. Crew, thrifted for $2
Earrings: thrifted for $4
Week 17 of my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge (a full year where I only buy second-hand clothing) is down. Only 35 more weeks to go!
Happy New Year!
