18 Mar Thrifty Threads: Ready for Spring
I can’t wait for spring to arrive on Wednesday. Seriously, I’m over the cold NYC weather. Though some people tend to wear more drab colors in the fall and winter, I’m all about wearing my brightest threads any time of the year. And I think I actually wear even bolder tones during colder months just to perk my mood up.
This past weekend, I threw on a ton of blue, red, pink and colors in between for a fun look. My vintage Mickey sweatshirt and Laundry by Shelli Segal trench are both from Housing Works Buy the Bag at just $1 each.
Check out this week’s Thrifty Threads. And I’ll even show you how to give your classic trench coat a little update.
I couldn’t resist posing in front of these colorful playground murals. I blend right in with the background.
The jeans are from TJ Maxx and I can already tell these will be a staple of my spring wardrobe. And the tribal print wedges were scooped up during my Sip & Swap event last year. At around five inches, they’re surprisingly comfortable. Well, at least for the first few hours they are.
As mentioned earlier, the trench is from the Housing Works Buy the Bag sale. The jacket originally didn’t have a belt attached, but that didn’t stop me from buying it. I just added my own, which is a fun way to update your existing trench coat {or any coat}. Switch up the look by adding your favorite belt or even a scarf.
A trench coat is a must have for every spring and I love how this one has leather trim pockets.

What spring trends or classic pieces are you excited to wear for the new season?
