06 Aug Thrifty Threads: The $2 Pants That Make a Statement
Every now and then I find a stellar thrift store score. This is that moment! If you follow me on Snapchat {@PatriceJWill}, then you saw these high waist mustard pants a few weeks ago. They were just $2. Yes, 2 bucks!
I paired the pants with another thrift score for a look that’s less than $15.
I’ve previously blogged about the joys of thrift shopping in a small town, because you find more affordable pieces and the crowds aren’t as intense. These pants were found at a really small shop in Jersey. Though there was a small stain on the back, I took a chance and bought them anyway and luckily I was able to remove it with some hand washing. Besides the bold color, I also loved that the pants are high-waisted and it has a bit of a paper bag waist due to the gathering {I’ll most likely wear a thin belt with the pants next time}. Afraid of trying the high waist pants trend? Don’t be! They instantly make you look taller.
For today’s look I paired the two buck trousers with my $10 vintage gold wrap top, last seen here. While the gold lamé top makes a statement, it’s easily paired with another neutral item.
Lastly, since the top is so bold and the pants are so bright, my accessory game was limited to colorful metallic Machi Footwear heels {last worn here when I hosted at event at Macy’s} and a large silver ring.
What’s your most recent thrift store find? How do you wear bright colors or statement pieces?
