16 Oct Thrifty Threads 365 – Sporty Sunday Style
Thrifty Threads 365 is a fashion challenge where I will only thrift shop for an entire year. I’ll show you how it’s easy and wallet friendly to satisfy your style needs with secondhand finds. For full details, check the original post here.
When it’s chilly out, but I still want to wear a dress and no tights, a long skirt is my go-to fashion choice. I purchased this Calvin Klein skirt a few months ago for less than $10 and it’s safe to say I’m in love with her. I first wore the skirt during Fashion Week. Back then I paired it with a vintage crop top, but this time around I wanted a more conservative look for church. But of course I had to throw in a sporty jacket to mix it up.
While I tend to favor more bold hues, I kept this look pretty simple with the beige skirt and booties and white Uniqlo shirt. For a dash of color, I grabbed my red purse scored from Housing Works Buy the Bag. I like to say that it’s the perfect size to fit a pair of shoes and my portable myCharge charger, but it’s not too large and cumbersome.
It’s really the American Giant {the brand sent it to me last year and I’ve loved it!} varsity jacket that adds a nice touch to an otherwise girly look.
My accessories were pretty simple with layered necklaces and the most awesome belt ever from Udelco vintage warehouse. I think it was about $5.
While having an in-your-face-stand-out-style is fun, sometimes you just need a few bold accents to make your look pop!
