19 Mar Thrifty Threads 365: Casual Weekend Wear
Thrifty Threads 365 is a fashion challenge where I will only thrift shop for an entire year. I’ll show you how it’s easy and wallet friendly to satisfy your style needs with secondhand finds. For full details, check the original post here.
Last week’s Thrifty Threads was all about adding a touch of glam to everyday life {remember the $8 vintage dress}? Well, this week I took a total 180 and went super casual.
Though I adore a pair of stilettos and a flirty frock, some days require leggings and the most comfortable pair of shoes in your closet. But of course keeping it easy and breezy doesn’t mean being devoid of any style. It’s all about adding a few elements to keep it haute and interesting.
This week I rocked a head to toe thrifted look with my trusty Old Navy leather jacket from the Goodwill Outlet and a chambray top, printed leggings and vintage Mickey Mouse sweatshirt from Housing Works Buy the Bag {I’m hosting a thrift shopping party at Buy the Bag on 4/26- get your tix before it’s too late!}. My clothes totaled less than $5. Yes, under 5 bucks!!!
Besides my love of skinny jeans on a lazy day, I’ve become obsessed with printed leggings. They’re way more interesting than a solid hue or denim. A few additions like these suede and faux patent wedge sneakers from Skechers {currently on sale for $60} and a gold collar necklace from Lydell NYC rounded out the look.
Even when you’re having a lazy Saturday, brunch with the girls or just exploring your city, a few pops of color, prints and accessories make all the difference.
If you’re participating in Thrifty Threads 365, keep tagging those pics with #ThriftyThreads365. Each month I’ll continue to highlight a few participants and regram your pics on Instagram.
What’s your favorite lazy day outfit? Are there certain accessories you rock to dress up any look?
