26 May The Must Have Summer Item You Should Thrift {& It’s Not in the Women’s Section}
With Memorial Day weekend marking the unofficial start of summer, it’s time to start wearing those warm weather clothes you stored away.
One must have summer piece is so simple and classic that it’s available at any thrift shop. Yes, any and every thrift store has this item and you need several of them in your closet.
I’m talking about t-shirts. I told you it was simple. Tees are a must in every wardrobe, whether you’re rocking them to a cookout to the beach or under a blazer for a casual chic vibe.
While it might be tough to find a crisp white t-shirt {they get dirty so fast!}, you can really strike gold with bright colors and fun slogans or prints. And please, step out of the women’s department!
Seriously, I’ve found my favorite, most unique tees from the men’s and even children’s racks. In addition to the fun shirts, the sizes let you play around a bit more and create the look you’re going for. For something super fitted, try the kid’s department. For something you can customize and cut up, head to the men’s area.
As an 80s baby, this Nintendo t-shirt remains one of my favorite finds. But you would have never known it was three sizes too big. The large size meant it was perfect for some easy DIY magic. Peep my video below on the easy, no-sew way to cut an oversized shirt {the video’s been viewed more than 200,000 times!}
You just never know what you’ll find when it comes to t-shirts. It might be a vintage concert tee, a fun slogan or something else that catches your eye. So dig through those bins and racks to find gold! Also, because they’re “just” tees, the prices are super affordable. And with the Memorial Day weekend, check your local thrift store for discounts.
