Join My Google Hangout with Kohl's/ Spring Fashion Essentials

I'm so excited to share that I'll be hosting a Google hangout for Kohl's this Thursday. I've been a huge fan of the brand since I included one of their pieces in my last Today Show fashion segment. I'm all about affordable, stylish gear and I'm really looking forward to their upcoming collaboration with Peter Som {peep the full collection here}.For Thursday's Google hangout, we'll be talking all things spring essentials.

No new clothes challenge--Thrifty Threads 365
Thrifty Threads 365 {a full year of no new clothes, only thrift shopping!} is almost a month in and so far, so great! I haven't had the urge to hit up any department stores. Though I'm shopping secondhand, I view the clothes as being "new" to me, so I don't feel like I'm missing out.
However, I did get a slight itch when I visited Loehmann's on Monday. If you hadn't heard, the store is closing all locations so they're having an everything must go sale {most items are 40 percent off, but I'd wait a few weeks until prices are discounted ever further}.
Last week I showed you how I scored more than $200 worth of clothes for just $9.96 {check out my latest thrift store haul}, but I really love when you guys show me your style {hence the collage above!}. You've been using the #ThriftyThreads365 hashtag so we can all keep track of everyone's progress. And this month, I was really impressed with one Thrifty Threads 365 participant's styling skills.

thrift shopping tips, how to style your thrift store clothes

Last week I showed you my massive Salvation Army thrift store haul and now it's time to put everything together. After you thrift an amazing piece, sometimes the next battle is, how do I wear it?
Well, whether your style is more glam or casual, it's as easy as 1, 2, 3 to rock your thrifted clothes and accessories in a way that's perfect for any occasion.

The image above cracks me up and when I posted it on Instagram, you guys were equally amused and had expressed you've been there before.
We see the "sale" sign and our eyes automatically light up. Or maybe it's the allure of clothes and accessories that are marked half off. I mean, I get it. If it's on "sale," then that means we're getting a bargain, right? Wrong!
This is a fairly common tactic some retailers use to reel you in and make you think you're getting serious bang for your limited buck.
But there are easy ways for us savvy shoppers to ensure we're really getting a deal and not simply being pulled in by smoke and mirrors.

Sweatshirts are all the rage. Last year I showed you how I wore my favorite vintage Mickey Mouse shirt and now, we're seeing more and more of the casual tops everywhere. They're no longer just the sweaty shirt you wore to workout or on a lazy afternoon. Now, the sweatshirt has been remixed in a fun, flirty and even chic way.
Rocking a sweatshirt is as easy as 1, 2, 3 and the look I styled below can work from the office to happy hour.
