Maybe it's the actual garment and sometimes it's your disbelief that a certain store carries such a cute piece.That's what happened when I went thrift shopping two weeks ago. I found this cobalt blue full midi skirt and fell in love. It was the color. The cut. The knee length split. And I was amazed to discover it was from Old Navy. Yes, Old Navy! I've never shopped at Old Navy {besides their dollar flip flops}, but I was surprised such a chic piece originated in their store.

It warms my thrifty heart when I see celebs rocking cheap chic finds. They can afford the best, but sometimes they opt for affordable wears you can find at your local mall. Jennifer Hudson was the latest celeb to step out in style on a dime.She paired a few trends {fedora, florals, shorts and leggings} without looking too trendy and created a boho chic look.But look at the shoes. Cute, right? And better yet, they're only $85! Jennifer rocked the Chinese Laundry Friction pumps. The suede platforms with elastic straps are the perfect compliment to any outfit. And the 5 inch heel is sure to give you legs for days.

I wasn't able to make the Housing Works $20 sale, partially because I overslept {doh!} but also because I had a sizable thrifting haul a few days before. If you follow me on Twitter, you already saw a few Twitpics. It had been way too long since I'd made a trip to the Goodwill Outlet and I'm so glad I went.If you're new to Living Fly on a Dime, the Outlet I go to is in Long Island City and clothing is priced by the pound. $1.69 per pound to be exact. See if there's a Goodwill Outlet in your area.I walked away with 16 pieces for $15.21 price, which averages out to less than $1 per item. I found some really great, colorful pieces to add to my wardrobe, including an Angora sweater from Express, Nicole Miller top with an embellished neckline, Topshop vest and more.Check out some of my favorite picks as well as a tip for thrift shopping when the weather's bad.

Old Navy is one of my prime shopping spots for basic items (flip flops, tanks, tees, etc), so I was all giddy when I found out about a great special they have going on today and tomorrow (7/30-7/31).When you're ready to checkout at the counter, just say "Cami 4 Me" and the layered camisoles are just $2 (normally priced at $8.50). $2?
