The weather in NYC has been so schizo lately. Though we experienced summer like temps in spring, off and on rainy days and nights were pretty common this week. So what's a girl to do on a lazy Saturday when the weather won't cooperate? She plays dress up of course. And that's exactly what I did. You guys know how I learned to walk in heels? I would play dress up with my grandma's heels. I'd flop around the house in her size 9's. I couldn't wait to grow up so I could wear pretty, "pointy" shoes like her. Fast forward 25 years and I have a serious love for tulle. It's ultra girly and super feminine. When I spied this blush skirt at the Goodwill in Greenwich Village I knew I had to have it. This is the perfect piece to slip on when you want to have a little fun.

Ah, shoes. What girl doesn't love them? Can you guess how much the average woman spends on a pair of shoes? A. $99 B. $75 C. $49 D. $35 If you guessed C, then you're right! The average woman spends $49 on shoes. For some reason I thought most women would be in the $100 range when it comes to footwear. But apparently everyone wants to be fly on a dime. The "average" woman isn't dropping stacks on Louboutins, Choos or Stuart Weitzman. I know a lot of frugal fashionistas who'll save on clothing but...

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. I hate shorts. Well, at least I used to anyway. Though I love a skirt or dress, I just felt my legs looked chunky and stumpy in shorts. Until last summer, I hadn't worn shorts in years. I loved a pair of Banana Republic shorts I thrifted, but I wasn't super confident about wearing them. However, that's all changed this year. I actually wore a pair of shorts and felt super confident. Maybe it's a product of my NY Lean 25 workouts or I'm just letting go of foolish insecurities, but either way, I felt good. The NYC weather decided to skip spring and head straight for summer, so this was the perfect week to show off my gams. I opted for an easy breezy look with some fly accessories to top it off. The clothing costs less than $2 since I thrifted them from the Goodwill Outlet where items are priced at $1.69/lb. But the accessories were the real show stoppers.
