30 Oct Style Equation: The Effortless Combo on a Brisk Fall Day
Thrifty Threads 365 is a fashion challenge where I will only thrift shop for an entire year. I’ll show you how it’s easy and wallet friendly to satisfy your style needs with secondhand finds. For full details, check the original post here.
As much as I have a “passion for fashion,” sometimes I just don’t know what to wear and hate getting dressed. No seriously, when I’m working from home, I’m in leggings and a t-shirt. But on days when I actually have to leave the house, I rely on my go-to style combos. These are the pieces I know I can throw together in minutes and they’ll look great. It’s as simple as 1 + 2 + 3 = chic, effortless and fun.
Below check out the first installment of Style Equation to see the pieces that keep you warm and stylish on a chilly day.
Last month I scored a cozy Coogi skirt from the Salvation Army for a few bucks and it was the perfect anchor for this look. I kept the top portion of my look simple with a Uniqlo v-neck and let the statement necklace from Mark
stand out against the white shirt.
The final part of the equation is the footwear. This was the first time this season I’ve worn my over the knee boots that I bought from TJ Maxx about two years ago. I wanted a boot that really covered most of my legs so there’s really no skin showing between the hem of the skirt and the top of the boots. Between my knit skirt, the boots and the tights under my skirt, I was nice and warm.
I’m thinking of turning this Style Equation post {simple combos for a chic look!} into a regular feature, what do you think? Comment below and let me know! I may even do short videos versus a post. Hmm…
Do you have a style combo you rely on {skinny jeans + chunky sweater + boots, etc.} when you’re stumped on what to wear? How are you dressing now that the temperatures are dipping?
