28 Jul Wish Shopping Haul {$1 – $10 Clothes and Accessories}
I’m not a huge online shopper. If I had a choice between adding items to my cart or going in store? I’d choose a visit to the store eight times out of ten. But there’s been a shopping site I’ve been dying to try. It’s Wish. You’ve probably heard of them. They sell clothes, shoes, accessories and pretty much everything at an affordable price. And when I say affordable, some items are a few bucks and others are even free. Yes, free!
But of course there’s a catch. While the clothes are cheap, you have to pay for shipping for each individual item {versus one shipping rate for an entire order}. Also, the quality is a crap shoot.
So, I figured why not? Let me give it a shot, right? It’s time for another What’s In Store feature. Here’s what I found on Wish, plus a few tips.
I found a ton of cute items while browsing the site and its app and before I knew it, I had close to $200 worth of clothes in my card and almost $100 of that was just for shipping. Yikes! After narrowing things down a bit, I settled on $80 worth of clothes, with $25 of that being the cost of shipping. With a promo code, that price dropped to $61.
Here’s what I found and a few things you should keep in mind before shopping on Wish.
You see this jumpsuit? I absolutely adored it online. And at just $9, I said why not? Well, when I tried it on, it was a bit of a struggle. It fit, but the top portion was totally smashing my boobs down. And I’m only an A-cup, so this would not be great for a woman with big breasts. I was able to make it work, but the fit of the top was not ideal. Also, it was certainly pulling in the crotch a little bit. I’m not tall, but I do have a long torso, so this isn’t a surprise to me. But the real issue was the quality.
I have never, ever in my life experienced such a poorly made garment and/or cheap material. After just one wear {one!!!}, I started noticing the linen material pilling in the crotch and on the left side of the suit {probably where my tote bag was rubbing against it}. How does something fall apart after one wear?! I’m going to try gently removing the pills with a razor because I really do love the jumpsuit.

There was another jumpsuit {$10, the most expensive piece}, but the issue with this one was also the fit. You see the photo below of the model? She must have sized up, which is what I should have done! Because I looked like a stuffed sausage when I wore it. The top was snug but a big baggy in the stomach area and the thighs were just too tight to my liking.
Besides the quality issue, the jumpsuits seem like they might be pretty tricky if you’re tall, have a long torso and/or have medium-large breasts. So that rules out a lot of people!
Another questionable quality piece was this 2-piece suit. Because who can resist a $7 bikini? Well, I wish I would have resisted. When it arrived, the material was practically see through. The fit was okay, but the bottoms weren’t high waisted which is what I expected from the pics and there’s no way I’d wear this to any pool {or even model pics for you!} because it’s the flimsiest material. I can only imagine the moment it gets wet, every nook and cranny would be on display. There’s absolutely no lining.
And yet another questionable piece was a straw bag {$6}. I knew anything with details or an ounce of craftsmanship would be pushing it. As expected, one of the handles already looks like it’s fraying a bit. I wouldn’t put anything heavy in the bag but I do plan to reinforce the handle with a bit of thick thread.
While I would never order a jumpsuit from Wish again, there are a few pieces I loved.
This button down white dress {$10} is just too adorable. It’s true to size and is comparable to the picture I saw online and I just absolutely adore it for an easy breezy day.
And there’s also this spaghetti strap romper {$7}. Just like the dress above, the fit was true to size. But one thing that drives me crazy about this is that the romper rides up when I walk {the material on the inner thighs}. But this has happened to me with other rompers and shorts in general. Hopefully I’ll figure out a way or a wardrobe hack to make the thighs stop riding up because I certainly plan to wear this again and again.
Finally, I’ve always been a fan of using accessories to jazz up any look on a dime. So of course I had to get a few thin bangles. I found one for $1{shipping was also $1} and a set of four bangles for $2 with $1 shipping.Though I ordered a “P” initial bangle, the letter “Q” arrived {I contacted them and received a refund of my $1}, but other than that, I loveee the bangles. They’re cute, add a nice accent and haven’t turned my arm green. But I also have a hack on how to keep your costume jewelry from tarnishing.
And of course, just like with any retailer, find a promo code before finalizing your order. I simply googled “Wish promo code” and found a code that knocked 20 bucks off my first order. Perfect!

So would I shop with Wish again? Yes, I’d buy jewelry and the occasional dress, but no, I wouldn’t buy jumpsuits or anything with a lot of detailing. And when you factor in the shipping, you can find comparable pieces at other retailers.
Stay tuned to my Instagram TV because I’ll have a short video on specific shopping tips for Wish. The site and app can be a bit confusing and overwhelming, but I’ll have a follow up post on what to look out for so you can shop smarter and really get those deals.

Posted at 20:54h, 30 JulyI think most of their sizes are Asian. They run smaller than ours. I love Wish but have never found clothes that fit on there.
