13 Jul Shop Your Closet
Do you have any old pieces in your closet you haven’t worn in forever, but you just can’t seem to part with them? Yeah, of course you do.
I purchased a yellow tube dress three years ago for about $20 and I haven’t worn it in at least two years. Once upon a time I loved it, I really did, but I realized the hem was way too long (at 5’2, any dress that hits below my knees makes me look like a teeny Lollipop Kid!) and the elastic started to wear out.
But I still didn’t want to get rid of it. I decided to take items in my closet and rework the ill-fitting dress into a new outfit. Click more to see how I used basic pieces (crisp white shirt, belt and necklaces) to create a fresh look.
{Step 1: Shorten the dress to your desired length. I just folded the excess fabric at the top inward.}
{Step 2: Tie a white shirt at your waist.}
{Step 3: Add a wide belt over the bottom of the shirt, so it looks like one seamless piece. Add some necklaces.}
{Step 4: Rock your new outfit that didn’t cost you a penny!}
