24 Feb Salvation Army Thrift Haul
Yesterday I made a trip to my fave Salvation Army {46th St. between 10th and 11th st} in search of something fly to wear to a taping of Oprah’s post Oscars show in LA. I didn’t walk away with one show stopping piece {I may already have something to wear} but I found a few other great items.
If you’ve never been to the Salvation Army on 46th Street, this location is A-mazing! It’s organized for easy shopping If you’re looking for something super specific {a button down white shirt or black skirt}, you can just go to the appropriate rack, as everything’s color coordinated. The shoe collection can be pretty hit or miss but there are tons of clothing from labels like Club Monaco, LOFT, Banana Republic and more affordable stores like H&M and Forever 21. The jean selection is also pretty awesome with designer denim from Citizens of Humanity, 7 for All Mankind and Rock and Republic.
And on Wednesdays, most clothing, shoes and books are 50 percent off.
Check out my most recent thrift store haul. I walked away with seven items for $35.
{love the color, super soft suede and gold piping around the edges. Steven by Steve Madden, $7.50}
{the vibrant hue and paisley print of this silk dress stole my heart. i think it’s vintage! Lloyd Williams, $5}
{i love a LBD with cute details, like this fold over collar and form fitting bodice with a-line skirt. $9.99}
{i was on the fence about this shimmery sweater with brocade sleeves but I’m so glad I snatched it up. Umi Collections by Anne Crimmins, $2.50}
{some pieces are just fun and cutesy and that’s what this Pacman button down shirt is. West Bay, $4.99}
{as much as I love plaid, I don’t really have any in my closet. I had to change that with this long top, perfect over leggings or skinny jeans. $3}
Another great thrifting trip.

Posted at 18:05h, 24 FebruaryYes, I’m so excited for Oprah. Attending a taping…in LA…for her last season is just amazing! I wanted to wear the green dress but the weather might be a bit chilly but I still want to wear it. I might just throw a leather jacket over it. I’ll be sure to post what outfit I went with 🙂

Posted at 03:28h, 25 FebruaryIs this your first visit to LA? How did you snag a ticket? How long are you staying? I know you will be thrifting and shopping.Your arrival time for the taping will be very early in the morning and it will be cold and windy. I say wear the green dress, remember green is Oprah’s favorite color.

Posted at 14:57h, 25 FebruaryNo, not my first time in LA and I’ll definitely be thrifting. A friend of mine got the tix. I might pack the green dress but it’ll probably be too chilly for it. I had no idea green is Lady O’s favorite color 🙂

Posted at 16:49h, 26 FebruaryThanks! I wanted to wear the green dress to Oprah, but the chilly temps mean I’m leaning towards the thicker material of the LBD. I’ll post pics of course 🙂
