I’ve been a serious thrifter for years now and people tend to be amazed at the pieces I find {just check out some of my past Thrifty Threads posts} and I always offer to take them thrifting with me but occasionally I get a hesitant reaction. And then the person finally expresses their concern… Is thrift shopping sanitary? Don’t you worry about bed bugs? Do the clothes smell? These questions initially annoyed and kinda insulted me {do you really think I or any thrifter would wear dirty clothes...

Last weekend I finally checked out Udelco in Hawthorne, New Jersey. The massive vintage clothing distributor is open to the public and nothing’s over $20. Besides the affordability, I was looking forward to falling in love with the 60s, 70s and 80s apparel. Like I stated, Udelco is a warehouse and most of the clothing is stacked on shelves in cardboard boxes. Though some people are turned off or intimidated by digging through tons of clothing, I love it. There’s nothing better than searching for a vintage, affordable...

Last week before stopping by Not Just Vintage, I hit up Goodwill on Fulton Street in Brooklyn {1102 Fulton}. Though I’m an avid thrifter, I was ashamed to say I’d never been to Goodwill in BK, so I had to change that asap. I was amazed at how spacious the store was and I was even more amazed at how empty it was. And of course it was super organized. Though the prices were pretty comparable to other Goodwill’s in New York {$8 for dresses, $5 for tops, etc}, I did...

The weather in NYC has been so schizo lately. Though we experienced summer like temps in spring, off and on rainy days and nights were pretty common this week. So what’s a girl to do on a lazy Saturday when the weather won’t cooperate? She plays dress up of course. And that’s exactly what I did. You guys know how I learned to walk in heels? I would play dress up with my grandma’s heels. I’d flop around the house in her size 9’s. I couldn’t wait to...

Ah, shoes. What girl doesn’t love them? Can you guess how much the average woman spends on a pair of shoes? A. $99 B. $75 C. $49 D. $35 If you guessed C, then you’re right! The average woman spends $49 on shoes. For some reason I thought most women would be in the $100 range when it comes to footwear. But apparently everyone wants to be fly on a dime. The “average” woman isn’t dropping stacks on Louboutins, Choos or Stuart Weitzman. I know a lot of...
